Valentine’s Day Gift Ideas for Your Pets

Valentine’s Day isn’t just for humans. You can celebrate with your pets, too! And while chocolate and roses won’t be good for your pet companion for life, there are some great ways to celebrate with them. Here are a few:

Take your creature of your life on a date

While a 5-star restaurant is a no go, you can still take your furry valentine on a date. This can be an extra long walk, a trip to the pet store to pick out a new toy, or some one-on-one time on the grass together. When was the last time you went above and beyond for your pet–outside of the house? Now’s a great time to do it. They may not understand that it’s for Valentine’s Day, but they’ll feel loved and appreciated all the same.

Gift them a favorite treat

Every creature loves treats, especially your closest companions. Splurge on their favorite treat, and make sure it’s actually good for them! Spend some time with them and simply let them enjoy the treat. They don’t need to earn it today–they already earned it for being your best friend every day.

Gift a professional photo shoot

While it may not be your pet’s favorite gift or activity, you’ll be glad you paid for lasting memories with your favorite pal. Selfies and on the spot photos are great on your phone, but a professional shot will capture everything you love about your creature best friend and you. There’s a ton of professional photographers that take pictures of pets, so a quick google search in your area should find someone you want to work with. Plus, some studios offer pet portrait packages, like JC Penny.

Make a treat jar

If you’re into crafts, consider making a fun treat jar for your lovable companion. This is an especially great idea if you have younger kids, as they can participate and feel that the jar is extra special. Red Ted Art has a simple idea and printables for cat and dog jars. If your pet is of a different variety, you can follow the general instructions and make your own artwork. Or just make it up as you go, making the jar even more personalized (this is more my style).

Treat your non-human best friend and have a wonderful Valentine’s Day!
